Build-up your natural defenses with Sibelius™: MyceliAid

The Covid-19 pandemic has had devastating effects both on people’s lives and on the global economy, leading us to adapt to completely new circumstances and ways of life. Based on statistics, there has been a reported 257.5 million cases and 5.1 million deaths worldwide.1 Changing priorities and putting health at the top of people’s minds. According to data, approximately 60% of consumers have become more conscious about their immune health.2 This has significantly affected immunity products as it has been noticed that the sales have rocketed, reaching $5.2 billion.3

The Diamond of the Forest

Chaga has been a traditional remedy for centuries; known for its antioxidant effects, immune health properties and skin health benefits.4 In some parts of the word people call Chaga ‘Black Gold’, ‘Diamond of the Forest’ and ‘The Mushroom of Immortality’.5 Before diving into the beneficial effects of Chaga in the immune system, let’s explain first what Chaga is. Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a fungus that grows on the bark of trees and usually can be found in cold climates. It is a very slow-growing fungus as it can take up to 15 years before reaching a harvest-able size.6

Extracts of Chaga mushroom (I. obliquus), and in particular the polysaccharide fraction, have been shown to have anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects both in vitro and in vivo. This includes modulating the production of inflammatory cytokines including TNFα, IL-1β, IFNɣ, and IL-6,7,8,9as well as the production of inflammation signalling molecules including NO and prostaglandins.10 Such activities likely contribute towards beneficial effects for Chaga shown in models of inflammatory bowel disease 11 and induced inflammation.12

 The Power of Sibelius™: MyceliAid

Seeing the benefits and the great potential of Chaga, Sibelius developed Sibelius™: MyceliAid, a high quality and scientifically evidenced full spectrum Chaga extract designed to support skin health, immune function and overall wellness. Extracted from wild-crafted Chaga mushrooms (Inonotus obliquus), native to the Changbai mountain region, MyceliAid is 100% natural extract rich in many critical bioactive phytonutrients found in mushrooms.

Sibelius' scientific data reveals that MyceliAid has strong immuno-modulatory activity, showing induction of response markers including IL-6 and IgG in an in vitro model of T-cell-dependent B-cell activation [1]; a key component of the adaptive immune system. The evidence supports that MyceliAid may contribute to long-term support of healthy immune system.
